Scavenger Hunt for Mental Health + Printable

Ahh childhood and Easter. Do you remember the times? The times when your parents would hide Easter eggs in the backyard so you can find them. Or go to easter egg hunts.

Easter egg hunts are another form of scavenger hunts. Scavenger hunts believe or not can help with your mental health. Yup just another childhood thing you didn’t know was beneficial to you.

Today we are talking about why scavenger hunts are good for your mental health. I even made some printable that you can use. Hunts of all kind. So let’s begin.

.

What are scavenger hunts?

This according to Wikipedia– scavenger hunt is a game in which the organizers prepare a list defining specific items, which the participants seek to gather or complete all items on the list, usually without purchasing them

How can they improve mental health?

  • Get you thinking of something else
  • Works your brain
  • Explore your environment or city
  • Can be a teaching lesson for kids

There is a con.

People can get really competitive which takes the fun out of everything. Some people’s just can’t help it. This is bad for that person’s mental health and yours.

Scavenger hunts should not be about winning or losing. It should be about having fun and exploring new things.

Scavenger hunt ideas-

Hunts are great for indoor rainy day activities. Hide various tbings around your house. Or make a list of things you have in your house for your kids to find.

Great brain exercise for animals also. Scatter around their treats (in semi visible spots) and have them find it. I do this on Easter for my dog. His treats in the eggs instead of candy

If you are not shy, the go on social eda and host a scavenger hunt for your friends or anyone in your city. It would be a fun idea to meet new people.

Conclusion

I hope you have fun on your hunt.
