May is mental health awareness month. A month where we hold each other accountable for the health of the brain. Where we respect each other more.
Mental health awareness should be everyday. We are living in a stigma Earthlings where mental health is still being overlooked as ‘attention seeking’ or ‘fake’.
Today we discuss my mental health, some resources, a history of mental health awareness month and more.

A History Lesson
It was May 1949 when Mental Health Anerica started Mental Health Awareness Month.
Each year there is a theme. 2025 is The Turn Awareness Into Actio. The Turn Awareness into Action theme was chosen for 2025 with the goal of celebrating “the progress we’ve made in recognizing the importance of mental health—and challenging us to turn understanding into meaningful steps toward change”
According to Wikipedia, 18.1% of Americans who suffer from depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
What can you do?
This month and everyday, you should show kindness to those around you. For you never know what another person is going through.

A little update on my mental health status
You guys may know this from my TikTok, I have cats. 9 of them. Used to be 23 but we may talk about that in another post.
March 29th I lost one of my cats which started my new downward spiral. She was sick so I am glad she is out of pain.
Not too long after, my kittens passed.
April 30th I lost another one of my cats. This cat was sick just a bit but it was not a reason for him to pass. I leave and come home unable to find him. Next thing I know I look under the house and see his hard, lifeless body. I miss that little dude.
Each cat I lose hurts more and more. I think that has part due to last year.
Needless to say I have been self harming more. I was doing good for a few weeks.
I also been drinking more. Which again I was doing good especially since the other month I had the flu and was in no mood for the alcohol.
I wonder what I did so wrong that nothing in my life goes right. And when things to, they crash soon after.
When will it be my and my cats turn to experience the good this life has to offer?
Final Word
Remember mental health is an important part of life. It would not be called health if it was not something we should be taking care of.
Mental health cause stress which can cause a heart attack or a panic attack. These can literally change how your life goes.
Bad mental health could cause end of life or loss of blood.
So take it upon yourself to check on yourself.
Journaling your thoughts and day is a great place to start.
