Motivation. What is it about this that we can never seem to motivate ourselves to do anything?

Motivation is key to achieving any goal or success in life. However, sometimes it can be difficult to find the motivation needed to start or continue a task. Below are some great ways to motivate yourself to reach your goals.

Set specific goals:

Ambiguity is the enemy of motivation. Without clear goals, it’s difficult to motivate oneself. Setting specific goals not only helps define what needs to be done but also provides an endpoint to work towards.

Motivate yourself by Rewarding yourself:

Humans respond well to rewards. Therefore, it’s important to set up a reward system that incentivizes you to reach your goals. Once you’ve achieved your goal, be sure to celebrate and reward yourself for the hard work put forth.

My Tip- I give myself little rewards when I go to the store by myself or the therapist. It could be small rewards like a drink or a big reward like Dunkin

Surround yourself with positivity:

Negativity is a motivation killer. To stay motivated, it’s important to surround yourself with a positive environment. Whether it’s positive people, uplifting music, or motivational quotes, make sure to choose surroundings that inspire and encourage you.

Create a routine:

Routines help form habits, and habits lead to consistency. A consistent routine can help keep you motivated and keep you on track towards your goals.

Write down what you do in a day. Down below is basically what I do

  • wake up
  • feed cat
  • eat
  • brush teeth
  • get ready for work day
  • go to work
  • Come home
  • feed cats
  • eat
  • pick up
  • get ready for bed
  • Sleep

Break tasks into smaller steps:

Write down what you need to do for the day.

Put a star next to the ones that are most important and need to be done asap.

Now break all the rest up into can be skipped and important. This way you can know what is next to be done after your starred list.

Tip- If you have a task like clean bedroom, break it down. Clean bed, wash floor, pick up laundry… Sure this may seem like it is making your list seem longer but in actuality it is making it faster. Not to mention you can get more checked off on your to do list #hack

Motivate Yourself by Taking care of yourself:

It’s difficult to stay motivated when tired or hungry. Be sure to take care of yourself, taking breaks when needed, and finding ways to reduce stress.

By taking care of yourself, you’ll be more energized and better able to tackle your goals.

Motivation Conclusion
